Rovigo Cello City! Today considered the most important cellist exhibition in Italy. From 4 to 11 September 2022, Rovigo comes alive with an evocative week entirely dedicated to the cello, which sees the concerts of well-known virtuosos of the instrument alternate with their master classes for young cellists. This festival, born in 2014 on an idea by Luigi Puxeddu, aims to enhance the excellence of the Rovigo cellist school that sees Luca Simoncini among the leading artists at national level. Since 2019 the direction of Rovigo Cello City has been entrusted to Gerardo Felisatti, a pianist who has been awarded numerous prizes, including international ones. The Festival, now in its 9th edition, brings together every year in Rovigo, in the first week of September, some of the best internationally renowned performers, together with a group of young emerging talents, to whom it offers not only the opportunity to listen to concerts and take lessons, but also to "make music" together with the great soloists.
