Garda trentino, by popular demand Bus & Go returns
Created by the Municipalities of Arco, Riva del Garda and Nago-Torbole in collaboration with Trentino Trasporti and the Garda Dolomiti Tourist Board, the service, active from 5 April to the end of October, will allow guests and residents of the area to book travel at the desired time and at all local public transport stops within the municipalities involved, via the app, at the price of two euros one way (to be paid directly on board) or free of charge if in possession of the Garda Guest Card or Trentino Trasporti season ticket.
This year's service aims to further facilitate the daily mobility of people in the area, offering flexible and efficient travel. In addition to the extended period of operation, in fact, there will be two minibuses on the roads of the municipalities involved, one of which is also dedicated to people with disabilities, with the addition of a third vehicle in the period between June and September.
Bus & Go will operate every day in the municipalities of Arco, Riva del Garda and Nago-Torbole (excluding mountain areas) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., thus extending the service hours and eliminating the afternoon break provided last year between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and with new stops, such as those in Via Fossa Grande in Arco or at the Apt. headquarters in Riva del Garda.
How Bus & Go works: the Bus & Go app shows users the stop closest to where they are at that moment (departure stop) and the one closest to the final destination indicated by the person (arrival stop). This is because the service uses the current public transport service stops as pick-up and drop-off points.
The system automatically sets the most efficient route and provides the driver with directions to the destination: the service therefore does not have predetermined routes (unlike the classic public transport service) but adapts to requests and external conditions (such as traffic, works, etc.).
The programme is therefore constantly updated (in real time) according to user requests and makes it possible to make the service efficient by optimising rides. Being a shared service and extremely flexible, the validity of an offer cannot be unlimited. The 30 seconds gives the user the opportunity to evaluate and accept the offer; at the same time, it gives everyone the opportunity to access the service. A user can book a ride for a maximum of five persons who must board and alight at the same stop.
Finally, there is a limitation with regard to the lakeside area that includes Riva del Garda (from the bus station to Viale Rovereto), Torbole sul Garda and Nago: Bus & Go can in fact only be used between the stops included in the area after 5.30 p.m. and at weekends, as on the same route and time slot there is a very regular 'classic' public transport service.
