The method that Fabrizio Paladin proposes, both to experts and beginners, is based on the mask as an instrument of an 'evolutionary mutilation': by covering the face and all the expressions derived from it, it is necessary to transfer to the body, in its entirety, the role of communicating stage meaning to the audience. The mask object, therefore, acts as an obstacle to be overcome for the development of unexpressed potential.
The Commedia dell'Arte is understood here not as a genre or style but as a technique of stage creation centred exclusively on the actor's art and not on the playwright or director. It will serve as a grid on which to apply all the studies and research of the great masters of the 20th century: Stanislavsky, Grotowski, Barba, Copeau, Artaud, Lecoq.
