The Garda Film Festival

Until 15 June, the festival will transform Lake Garda into a great showcase for Italian and international cinema, with screenings and meetings with authors inspired by this year's theme: ‘Beyond the Border’.

The jewel in the crown of the event will be the Garda Cinema Nights, the special evenings in the open-air arena on the Regina Adelaide lakefront, which will host the great films of the season in the presence of the directors and protagonists: a unique opportunity to meet some of the most representative figures of the Italian film scene, in a location of timeless charm.
Opening the evenings will be, on Wednesday 11 June at 9.00 p.m., Ambra Sabatini - A metre from the finish line, an intense story dedicated to the young Paralympic athlete who transformed her physical limit into an extraordinary inner strength. The evening, realised in collaboration with Autostrade per l'Italia, will see the participation of director Mattia Ramberti, who for his sensitivity in giving voice to authentic and universal stories will receive the ‘Garda Cinema - Beyond the Border’ award.

During the opening evening, the ‘Garda Cinema - Career in Progress’ award will also be presented to Giovanna Mezzogiorno, one of the most intense and refined interpreters of our cinema and today also an author, who will present her book Ti racconto il mio cinema.ù
