The boundless photography of Robert Capa

New appointment with international photography at Palazzo Roverella!
From 8 October 2022 to 29 January 2023, the new photographic exhibition curated by Gabriel Bauret is ready to enchant Rovigo and its visitors in the halls of Palazzo Roverella.
After the success of last year with the Robert Doisneau exhibition, “Robert Capa. L’Opera 1932-1954 "prepares to follow it, offering a look at the main stages of the Hungarian photographer's production.
It will be a strong retrospective of about 366 photographs selected from the archives of the Magnum Photos agency, intent on retracing the main stages of his career, giving the right space to some of the most iconic works that have embodied the history of twentieth-century photography. It will be a combination of emblematic shots of Capa's work and images that have appeared more rarely, which will be developed specifically for the exhibition, divided into 9 thematic sections, from the beginnings to the last trip to Indochina.
These are certainly iconic works, some very well known (such as the one that immortalizes the soldier and the peasant in the Sicilian countryside during the Second World War) and others less known, chosen with the aim of offering a look as unprecedented as possible on the facets of a a character as well known to the public as he is elusive. The exhibition aims to highlight the salient features of Robert Capa's research, outlining the human, as well as professional, aspects of his history.
